Salma Hayek Pinault is a Mexican-American actress and film maker.

Salma was born in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, Mexico. Her father, Sami Hayek Domínguez, is Lebanese-Mexican and her mother Diana Jiménez Medina, is an opera singer.

Salma wanted to be a gymnast as a kid, But due to lack of institutes in her native place, She cannot pursue this.

Hayek went to a Catholic boarding school in New Orleans when she was 12 years old. In boarding, a silly prank caused Salma to be expelled from school.

Salma wore temporary tattoos at the 1998 MTV Music Video Awards.

Salma grew up bald and had shaved eyebrows, her grandma would routinely shave her head and eyebrows to make her hair thicker.

Salma was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia, in childhood. When she moved to Los Angeles from Mexico at the age of 25, she could barely read street signs and could not speak English.

However, she adjusted and took her time reading scripts and memorizing her lines.

Hayek dedicates her time to ending violence against women. She also sits on the board of a non-profit called V-Day.

Salma loves animals, she owns a pet owl and some other pets including dogs, horses, alpacas, bunnies and chickens.

Salma only spends five minutes a day exercising still looks amazing at the age of 54.

Salma have to struggle during the initial phase of her career, she received several rejections from movie producers because she was Latina.
