Travis Reynaga, 34, of Grass Valley ID as Driver in Highway 20 Deadly Crash

Nevada County, California (June 5, 2022) – Authorities have released the name of the driver who was seriously injured in a deadly mishap on State Route 20 Saturday evening.

34-year-old Travis Reynaga from Grass valley was driving an Acura at a high rate of speed when the fatal collision occurred.

Original Story

A crash involving a livestock trailer left a woman dead in Nevada County on Saturday evening, according to California Highway Patrol.

The incident happened at around 6:30 p.m. on June 4, on State Route 20 east of Chalk Bluff Road.

According to the CHP, a man was driving an Acura eastbound on State Route 20 at a high rate of speed when he crossed into the westbound side on a curve and collided head-on with a westbound Ford F350.

A passenger in the Acura was pronounced deceased at the scene. She was only identified as a 37-year-old woman.

The driver of the Acura was transported to UC Davis Medical Center with major injuries.

The driver of the Ford, Donald Mayo, 77, of Live oak, was transported to hospital with major injuries. His passenger, Denise Mayo, 67, also from Live Oak, was hospitalized with moderate injuries. A third passenger, Matt Perkins, 43, also from Live Oak, sustained minor injuries in the crash. Perkins was not hospitalized.

A third person in the Ford sustained minor injuries but was not transported.

The sheep in the livestock trailer were not injured in the accident.

The CHP is working to determine the cause of the collision.
