Lemoore, California (July 4, 2022) – Santana Yanez, 26, of Lemoore, was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a crash that happened late Friday night in Lemoore, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened at around 11:45 p.m. on July 1, on Jersey Avenue west of 17th Avenue.
According to CHP, Yanez was driving a 2020 Toyota Corolla eastbound on Jersey Avenue at a high rate of speed when he collided with a 2006 Nissan Quest minivan that was exiting the Palace Casino Resort.
The 63-year-old Fresno man driving the Nissan and his passenger, a 52-year-old Fresno man, were both killed in the accident.
Yanez suffered major injuries and was airlifted to Kaweah Health Medical Center. He was later arrested for DUI.
An investigation into the deadly accident is ongoing.

The incident took place just before midnight on Jersey Avenue west of 17th Avenue.
CHP said Santana Yanez, 26, of Lemoore, was driving eastbound on Jersey Avenue at a high rate of speed when he collided with the driver’s side of a Nissan that was exiting the Palace Casino Resort.
Two men in the Nissan were both killed in the collision.
Yanez was flown to Kaweah Health Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.
He was also arrested on DUI charges following the collision, authorities said.
The CHP is investigating the incident.
